A fantastic weekend which has left me with a lot of happy memories. I'm very much looking forward to seeing the silver tray service from Mike next year!

I like the idea of a songs of praise format except that we would be competing with some (probably!) slightly better musical talent in the next field.

To say that the HC format "is not working" is a little extreme. It attracted a decent crowd at the V Festival. I would say, however, that a version of litergy more befitting the event would be useful.

Prehaps both styles of service could be used next year?

This is real outreach and is just the sort of thing that should be done all over the country. Going to where people are is so much more New Testament than inviting them where we are. But this must be promoted by those who have a voice. What festivals nationally could be so used in this way?

One small point, a Holy Communion service is for believers. Would a Songs of Praise format attract more people. Clearly the HC format is not working.

Here I am still rooting round in the boot of my car for the socks I worked off at the festival. It was good with many opportunities to talk and pray with individuals.A highlight for me was praying prayers of recommitment and of opening the heart again to Jesus Christ with three or four individuals.
But there is a great challenge I think to avoid simply recreating 'church' at the fest only this time in a tent with fairy lights instead of a steeple. Somehow we need to find a way of going beyond re rehearsing those cultural gripes people have about 'organised religion causing all the wars' etc etc etc and get to the heart of the matter that spiritual life it is genuine involves transformation of the heart and soul into the selfless love for God and the subsequent outworking for others. This is not as simple as it sounds!!. Next year I am going to wear a suit and carry a silver tray for serving out the free water!
