It was announced on Sunday that I am to be the new vicar of All Saints Wellington with St. Catherine's Eyton, on the edge of Telford, Shropshire. I shall be finishing my current role at the end of November, and will be inducted on the Feast of the Epiphany, 6 January 2007, at 2pm. I have greatly enjoyed being diocesan missioner for the past nine years - my predecessor Alan Smith described it to me as 'the best job in the Church of England'. However I have always known, from the age of 17, that my primary calling was to be the leader of a local church, and so I am looking forward very much to returning to full-time parish ministry. It will be a great wrench to leave the people of St. Matthew's Walsall, who have been a wonderful support to Gill and me in our itinerant ministry.
Our new parish is very lively, and it will be a privilege to build on the outstanding work done during Malcolm Potter's 20 year ministry there. There is a strong ministry team in place, and great work with children and young people. They have just appointed a young music minister (not me!!) and are also looking for a new youth and children's minister - so if you are interested send me an email!
More details about the parish can be found on their website: www.allsaints-wellington.org

It is going to be great to be part of the team for the new era at allsaints. The AVA ministry welcome you.
Solutions in Jesus' Name,
Charles M

Fantastic news - it's a lovely church in a vibrant market town and the previous youth minister Chris made fantastic links with my daughters school (Dothill). Glad to welcome you to Telford!
